Longarm Quilting Services
Longarm Quilting
What is Edge-to-Edge quilting?
Edge-to-Edge (E2E) quilting is a continuous quilting design that runs from one edge of the quilt to the other, covering the entire quilt top uniformly, regardless of blocks, seams, or piecing designs.
These designs are created using computer-guided digital patterns, allowing for precise stitching and customization. Patterns can be adjusted in scale and density to achieve the perfect look for your quilt.
E2E quilting enhances quilts with beautiful texture and is available in thousands of designs, including vines, flowers, feathers, and geometric shapes. It’s an excellent choice for achieving a consistent, professional finish while keeping costs affordable.
Preparing Your Quilt for Longarm Quilting.
To ensure the best results, we ask that you bring your quilt as separate top and backing pieces.
Batting Options
We carry Warm & Natural and Toasty Cotton batting, but you’re always welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
Backing Requirements
Your backing fabric must be larger than your quilt top. We recommend that it be at least 4 inches bigger on each side. For example, if your quilt top measures 60" x 70", your backing should be 68" x 78".
To facilitate the loading process onto the quilting machine:
Please ensure the edges of your backing are straight.
If you need to piece your backing, horizontal seams are preferred.
Quilt Top Preparation
Before bringing in your quilt, please:
✅ Remove all pins, buttons, charms, sequins, couching, or other embellishments.
✅ Check for fullness in borders and ensure your quilt is as square as possible.
A quick way to check: Fold your quilt into quarters and see if the edges align.
Lay it flat—if you notice a wrinkle that won’t smooth out along the edge, there may be excess fullness. We’re happy to help correct minor issues.
✅ Press or starch your quilt so seams lay flat and wrinkles are minimized.
When you bring your quilt in, we will hang it on a hanger to prevent further wrinkles. If you bring your own hanger, we’ll return it when you pick up your quilt.
Following these steps helps ensure your quilt is finished beautifully! If you have any questions, feel free to ask—we’re here to help.
Batting
We proudly carry Warm & Natural and Toasty Cotton batting, known for their high quality and excellent quilting performance. Through experience, we’ve found that some batting brands don’t quilt as well, often resulting in inconsistent stitches and subpar results. That’s why we carefully select only the best batting to ensure your quilts turn out beautifully.
However, if you have a preferred batting, you’re always welcome to bring your own!
